Black Lives Matter Chicago, the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and Trinity United Church of Christ calls upon all the various strands of the peoples movement to come out and join us in protest of the cold blooded, brutal murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. We will rally Monday, July 11, 2016 in Federal Plaza (Dearborn and Adams) at 4:30pm and march in the streets. We are protesting in solidarity with the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and everyone who is calling for justice and demanding systemic changes. We are demanding that President Obama, pursuant to the laws of the land, order the arrest and federal prosecution of the police criminals who murdered Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. We demand justice and we want it now!
Also here in Chicago we are struggling for systemic changes in that we are campaigning for an all elected Civilian Police Accountability Council (#‎CPACNOW‬) which we say is the only pathway to community control of the police. Join us Monday at 4:30pm in the Federal Plaza located at Dearborn and Adams.

The battle lines have been drawn by the Mayor and his cohorts, as they finesse their cloaking plans to keep the racist system of police impunity in place via more mayor appointed positions and boards. The People are demanding democratic community control of the Chicago police, the Mayor continues his smoke and mirror game of fake police accountability. On July 6th & 7th the City plans to hold more bogus hearings at City Hall.

We will be there, not to collude with this farce, but to fight back with CPAC! We will be holding the real People’s Hearings on Chicago police crimes and to demand the democratic solution—an all elected civilian police accountability council. Join us in the lobby of the second floor at City Hall July 6th & 7th for the CPAC Peoples Hearings

FIGHT BACK WITH CPAC! No Mayor appointed oversight board, monitor, auditor, or inspector general, no more police board, no more IPRA, no more internal affairs…Only community control. Only CPAC!

How do stop the Chicago police from terrorizing our neighborhoods, from racial profiling, torturing and murdering our communities? …By demanding a systemic change, by demanding community control of the police where cops are held accountable for their crimes, and communities decide and control how they are policed. How do we get their? … By fighting for an all elected all Civilian Police Accountability Council (CPAC).
