There is our first community symposium on a Civilian Police Accountability Council (CPAC), the first of many community symposiums on CPAC that we plan to hold every two months. Come join us and help us in assessing where we are at and where we need to go in building a broad, united all inclusive front against police crimes and the current ultra-right-wing drive to turn our country into a police state that will brutally crush and attempt to destroy all progressive, democratic movements for peace, justice and equality.
We are reaching out to police crimes survivors, community members and the entire progressive peoples’ movement in the Greater Chicago Area to join us so that we can start in earnest to build a broad United Front Against Racist and Political Repression. This must be the peoples’ response to Ferguson and to the continued epidemic of police crimes throughout our nation. It is incumbent upon us to build a multi-racial, multi-national, multi-cultural movement to end police crimes and all forms of racist and political repression.
So long as the police stalk our communities like a foreign military power, putting us under a state of siege, we are deprived of the organizing space we need to fight against austerity budget cuts and to fight for jobs, housing, education and health care. In a few words: AGAINST OUR RACIST OPPRESSION.
The deepening economic crisis in our communities reflects the fact that our government favors the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and thus we have come to the political crossroads of either going down a fascist path of state terrorism against the people, i.e. police crimes perpetrated by the CIA, FBI and our local police or the path of democracy where we the people are empowered to hold the police and all agencies of government accountable for the crimes they commit against the people.
Finally, the message of our CPAC campaign is that we must demand justice but also be organized politically to empower the people to put the police under community control. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! AMANDLA!
